Welcome to A-Ko's and Indy's Home Page

A-Ko takes her name from the very cute, highly destructive Japanese schoolgirl/superhero in the animated movie, Project A-Ko. Being a typical girl cat, she came to our house and took it by storm. The two elderly gentleman cats who lived here at the time never had a chance. A-Ko is a good mouser, much to her Mom's dismay. At present she on a diet, and requests that anyone who's listening send food.

Indiana Jones joined our family in October 1999 after psychically luring Butterfly into the Albuquerque Animal Humane adoption booth at PetSmart, even though she meant to go to Sam's instead. Indy is the first kitten we've had in our home in many years, and he's a good playmate for A-Ko. He's a smart cat and is not afraid of anything in the world. He spends his days terrorizing A-ko and plotting ways to eat a bird without getting caught. Indy is the only cat we know who had to be quarantined until his bubonic plague results came back (negative, thank you). Watch out or he'll steal your eyeglasses right off your face!

In Memoriam
Two beloved cats are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge:

Rasputin
Ras was the offspring of a full Siamese and a half Siamese cross. He lived with Butterfly from his kittenhood until his passing at age 18. He was as tough as his namesake, having been diagnosed with renal failure in his old age. Defying all odds, he hung in there another two years, blessing us with his special brand of loveable old cootness. There will not be another like him.

Zippy

Zippy was named after a convenience store in Texas, for reasons that Butterfly can no longer remember. Given the primary role of food in his life, it fit somehow. Zippy adopted Butterfly at the Humane Society of Austin (Texas). He loved everyone and had a sunny disposition to match his coloring. He was a world-class greyhound trainer, and taught many an aggressive dog to respect cats.
